Deodorant Recipe!

OK and for my next recipe... deodorant! This one is also very simple. And I bought my jar pictured below at CVS for $1 and it came with fruit inside :)

1/4 cup baking soda
1/4 cup corn starch
2 spoon fulls coconut oil (not heaping)

Mix together, put in jar and let set overnight. The recipe is not exact, mainly because of the coconut oil. It is a low heat oil and here in Florida it turns into liquid just sitting on my shelf! What your mainly looking for is the consistency. It should look like frosting (like the tubs you buy at the store to frost cake).
 Dry ingredients
 Adding in the coconut oil.
 Mashing it all together.
 Finished product looks like this.
 Into the jar.
I use this much per armpit!

Homemade Detergent Recipe

I tweeted (@kaytea) a couple of weeks back and had a huge demand (2 people) for my detergent and deodorant recipes. So here is the first recipe of my laundry detergent.

It's very simple:
Equal parts Washing Soda, Borax and Oxiclean

Note- The oxiclean is probably not essential. I use it because I wash our cloth diapers. Also as shown in my pictures below, you only need 3 tablespoons for your biggest loads. I'm not lying, if it can clean poopy diapers, I'm sure it can get your dirty knickers clean. You could also probably add some essential oils like lavender if you wanted scented clothes. I prefer unscented to keep my migraines at bay!

Jar I bought from Salvation Army.

It can hold 1 cup of each ingredient.

I put the top on and shake it up!

I use 3 tablespoons for large loads and 2 for medium.
