Homemade Detergent Recipe

I tweeted (@kaytea) a couple of weeks back and had a huge demand (2 people) for my detergent and deodorant recipes. So here is the first recipe of my laundry detergent.

It's very simple:
Equal parts Washing Soda, Borax and Oxiclean

Note- The oxiclean is probably not essential. I use it because I wash our cloth diapers. Also as shown in my pictures below, you only need 3 tablespoons for your biggest loads. I'm not lying, if it can clean poopy diapers, I'm sure it can get your dirty knickers clean. You could also probably add some essential oils like lavender if you wanted scented clothes. I prefer unscented to keep my migraines at bay!

Jar I bought from Salvation Army.

It can hold 1 cup of each ingredient.

I put the top on and shake it up!

I use 3 tablespoons for large loads and 2 for medium.

Protos

Protos = Professional Photos

It's catchy, huh? It's going to sweep the nation.

So on Sunday we went to the beach to get some professional photos done. We will be using some for our Christmas card (which will be our first one!) and the others are for friends and family to print up and keep our good looking faces around their homes. Here is a small sampling from the session. You can also see more at Ricky Stern's blog and maybe sneak a peak at his other photos and if your in the Miami area call him up. He was great with Zelda and super easy to work with.

Foam Sword

Jon gave Zelda his foam sword to play with. Which she loved. Then she started biting it and ripped off a piece. She is no longer allowed to play with the foam sword :(

I made even more stuff!

So I wasn't lying when I said I was busy crafting. I was on FIRE!

There is a little Baby Rakoczy arriving in November and I made him a lounge suit and hat. I figure he'll get lots of use out of it since it's so cold in Chicago! He just needs a mini cigar and glass of whiskey. Babies can have those, right?

Seriously though, this is probably the greatest thing I have ever made.

I made stuff!

I know I haven't blogged in awhile. I got in a blogging funk. But I wasn't in a crafting funk!

I made these oven mitts for my mother-in-laws birthday back in August. I think they came out great and I followed this super easy online tutorial. I just hope Diana uses them :)

The finished product!

Laughing

We took this video about a week ago. It's not her belly laugh, but we think it's pretty cute. We are being funny off to the side and she's laughing at Jon and I. Enjoy!
