No I didn't quit blogging...

But it certainly did cross my mind. This is the hardest post to write. On February 9th my husband's most beloved father passed away from a massive heart attack. He was only 54. We flew out to Michigan the next morning and just returned Monday the 21st. I don't have the words to truly express my feelings. He was a great man, a loving husband, a wonderful dad and was just embarking on being the best grandfather. I tell Zelda every day how much he loved her and how he is watching over her. Heaven got a good one!

I couldn't find a picture of just Jon's dad and the baby. This is Jon's dad, mom, his sisters and brother.

No, it's not Friday...

But I have a ton of backed up stuff to post about Zelda! I'm breaking the rules.

I successfully made my own baby food. First I made carrots, then a few days later I made some sweet potatoes. We skipped over the rice cereal since I breast feed and find no nutritional value in it. After about a week of her solid foods I did add oatmeal cereal to the mix. Mainly because she is still not sleeping through the night and I thought maybe she was waking up hungry and I wasn't producing enough for her. It's been two days since adding the oatmeal and it hasn't helped one bit. I bought some avocados on Sunday to make into baby food next!

The carrots

Waiting in her high chair for the goods!

Yummy! She loves her carrots!

Little grass dude

I got this little guy from my knit groups secret santa. I started growing his hair a few weeks ago, and boy does it grow fast! I had to give him a haircut!

Then a couple of days later I had to throw him out, cause anywhere there wasn't grass there was mold :(

Ahhh, Sunday.

So I am getting lazy. I'm not really lazy, just haven't had time to post - let alone clean my house! Well today is the first day in weeks Jon hasn't worked 14+ hours. In fact, he didn't work at all. It was pure bliss!

We drove around looking for a new place to live, Jon cooked a cod soup that he just threw together and it was surprisingly delicious. I'll admit, I was seriously worried. And well I still didn't do any cleaning. I need to get my act together because Jon's dad is coming this weekend for a couple of days!

As I was saying... I'm getting lazy. Below are all the ornaments I received in my handmade ornament swap. It was a ton of fun. And I love getting mail!

Ugh ZELDA!

She has begun waking up several times a night after many months of sleeping through the night. She's been doing it for a whole week now and I again feel like a zombie. We've all had a very hard week.

Jon is still crunching. He was supposed to be done on Monday, but it's Friday and they are still crunching. :( I am really just hoping he has this weekend off.

On Tuesday Jon's Grandpa Glenn passed away. I have my fingers crossed that Jon won't have to work this weekend so that we can join a cousins family in driving up to Orlando to visit his Grandma.

Then on Wednesday our hedgehog, Spiney Norman, passed away. To say the least, this week has sucked.

BUT I do have some cute pictures!
Zelda loves to eat her feet, especially in the bath.

And here she is getting frustrated at the giraffe on her exersaucer for not going in her mouth!

Friday, Friday, Friday.

I am so glad you are almost over. We have closed out another week of Jon being on crunch and it's looking like they might extend it past the 31st. Poop.

I am getting increasingly annoyed living in our apartment complex. It's the little things. Mainly all the little things that wake Zelda up while she is sleeping, making me have one cranky baby on my hands. The high school kids getting off the bus at 4pm everyday, the downstairs neighbor going for a smoke outside and bringing her 1.5 and 3 year olds with her to run around and scream, the car honks, the upstairs neighbor - who I think is building a new kitchen... oh, and my ultimate favorite one, the outside our front door fire alarm going off at midnight and the fire fighters having to come and turn it off, there was no fire. Our lease is up at the end of April and we are exploring our options!

Zelda has been doing great at PT and we have already been put down to once a week visits instead of twice a week. I attempted today to make some baby food, but failed. I think I needed to steam my carrots for longer, or my Cuisinart really sucks at pureeing them. We also had a doctor visit yesterday so here are her stats:

5 Month Weight = 14lbs 4oz
4 Month Weight = 13lbs 4oz

5 Month Height = 25 1/2" (thank goodness, she was gaining more than an inch each visit, I was starting to worry!)
4 Month Height = 25"

5 Month Head Circumference = 16 1/2"
3 & 4 Month Head Circumference = 16"

We've learned this at PT!
