Baby dress

It took me just over 2 months to knit, but I finished it! And I have a week to spare before the wedding we are going to next Friday (in Chicago, for one of my high school best friends and the guy that introduced Jon and I). While I think the final product is the bees knees, I am not in love with the pattern. I think it would have been a lot easier if knit from the bottom up and not having to do a provisional cast on. The writer of the pattern did explain that she did it that way for better fitting purposes. The other part of the pattern that really bothered me was picking up the stitches of the sleeves to make the ribbing. I don't remember the exact stitch count, but it was something like pick up 47 stitches when there was only maybe 30 stitches and I had to pull 17 stitches from other areas around the sleeve. That part took me forever, and caused the sleeves to roll (which I was able to get to lay flat in blocking). Below are some photos of the dress. I appliquéd one of my hedgehog designs to the corner of the dress as well! So cute!

It's almost Friday...

I'm a day early and a week late. My parents came to town to visit with Zelda so I was really busy and wasn't able to post last week. I'm sure there are some people that are curious about what was up with Zelda and her being sick. Her analysis came back clean, but when the doctor called to tell us to discontinue medicine and make sure no other symptoms had come up, I informed her that Zelda had a fever that started at about 11pm the night before. So back to the doctor we went. They re-ran her blood work and another urine test. This time everything came back fine. The doctor decided that it was just teething. She had a fever for 3 days getting as high as 102.1 then when it went away she got a pink/red rash all over her chest, back and little of her neck! We (being my family and I - not the doctors) concluded that she actually had Roseola. She had all the symptoms and after reading up on it and finding there was no medication for it, that it would clear up on its own, we didn't take her back to the doctor. And about 2 days later we were back to normal! She was sick in some of the photos and her eyes look a little red.

Zelda's pool float! She loves chewing on her toy.

This is what a lot of her pictures look like now. She's quick!

Opa and Zelda!

Hanging out at the pool.

Getting ready to go in the water.

In the middle of a super funny laugh she does. I'll try and get it on video.

Walking around the coffee table. Trying to find trouble!
