Friday, Friday, Friday.

I am so glad you are almost over. We have closed out another week of Jon being on crunch and it's looking like they might extend it past the 31st. Poop.

I am getting increasingly annoyed living in our apartment complex. It's the little things. Mainly all the little things that wake Zelda up while she is sleeping, making me have one cranky baby on my hands. The high school kids getting off the bus at 4pm everyday, the downstairs neighbor going for a smoke outside and bringing her 1.5 and 3 year olds with her to run around and scream, the car honks, the upstairs neighbor - who I think is building a new kitchen... oh, and my ultimate favorite one, the outside our front door fire alarm going off at midnight and the fire fighters having to come and turn it off, there was no fire. Our lease is up at the end of April and we are exploring our options!

Zelda has been doing great at PT and we have already been put down to once a week visits instead of twice a week. I attempted today to make some baby food, but failed. I think I needed to steam my carrots for longer, or my Cuisinart really sucks at pureeing them. We also had a doctor visit yesterday so here are her stats:

5 Month Weight = 14lbs 4oz
4 Month Weight = 13lbs 4oz

5 Month Height = 25 1/2" (thank goodness, she was gaining more than an inch each visit, I was starting to worry!)
4 Month Height = 25"

5 Month Head Circumference = 16 1/2"
3 & 4 Month Head Circumference = 16"

We've learned this at PT!

Winner, winner! Chicken Dinner!

Contest One Winner: ADAM! It was Mario 64 font.

Contest Two Winner: GINNY! Please email kayteacooper {at} gmail {dot} com Your google account is private!

Thanks everyone who commented :)

I'll be messaging both of you to see what tickles your fancy!

Feeling Uninspired

I feel like I want to make something, but the house is so messy and I am still finishing up Christmas gift knitting. I just can't justify starting a project. Will someone come over and clean my house? Thanks.

Picture has nothing to do with anything. It's me from Halloween 2009. I was a zombie bride. Jon did my make-up :)

Pac-Man Contest!!!

ETA: The contest is over. Thanks to everyone who commented!

A couple of weeks ago I did a semi-custom order in my etsy store. They wanted the words Pac-Man added to one of my pac-man shirts. It turned out pretty cute.

So the contest part, up for grabs are TWO custom onesies or t-shirts (smallest size of newborn up to 6T in the tshirts). You could win this for your little one, or it's a great gift as well! Everyone should enter. ETA - NOTE: This is for any design you want on a onesie or toddler shirt, not just PAC-MAN!

Contest One: Be the first person to comment telling me what font I used on the Pac-Man shirt.

Contest Two: Leave a comment, with anything you want! A guess for the first contest, stopping by to say hi, letting me know how cute my baby is. Whatever!

Both contests come to a close at 5pm EST January 28th. At which point I will announce the contest one winner and randomly pick (through a number generator) the winner for contest two. Good luck!

Zelda Zelda Zelda

This week has been difficult because Jon is crunching at work. And since he is working so much he is not here to help with Zelda. Luckily we have gotten into a good routine and she is usually in bed by 8pm.

We finally made it to her physical therapy evaluation and just like we suspected, she has torticollis. We'll be going to PT two time a week for a few weeks then going down to once a week. In the meantime we have exercises to do at home, all of which Zelda hates. We were also given a referral to have her head measured to make sure she doesn't need a helmet.

I caught this photo of her right after a nap. This was the first time she wasn't in the same position I left her in.

I finished those cloth wipes!

I put flannel and terry cloth together with my serger to make my own cloth wipes. I only used this pink owl flannel, but I have yards upon yards of flannel in my "stash" that I need to make into wipes and maybe some more burp cloths. The final result:

Christmas Wrap up!

This is my Christmas Knitting Wrap Up! Note: I also knit 9 ornaments for my ornament swap, and one more for my soon to be sister-in-law Melissa (no relation to my other sister-in-law Melissa - this gets very complicated when talking to my parents because I forget I need to mention which Melissa I am talking about), and a hat for my nephew Cade. All of which I already blogged about!

First up: What I gave and made my swap partner from my knit meetup swap (I totally forgot to post about this!) The leaf is a bookmark that I knitted.

A shawl for my sister-in-law, Melissa.

Felted slippers for my sister, Jamie.

Felted slippers for my other sister-in-law, Lindsay.

I am still knitting a couple of Christmas gifts for my sister-in-law Liz and my dad! They're coming, I swear!

5 Months!

Zelda is 5 months today! We don't have another doctor appointment until the 27th so I don't have any new stats. She grabs for everything. She still doesn't seem interested in food. Oh, on my last post I said nothing of note has happened. And my mom told me that's not true! Zelda did roll over - once. I said to her I didn't post because I didn't want to bring it to people's attention that she is a slow roller. On her back she rolls to the side, but never all the way over. The one time she rolled from her tummy to her back was like watching it in slow motion because it took her about five minutes! Yesterday was super funny, she was getting some tummy time on our bed and she was between my legs while I was knitting. I sing to her during tummy time because if you don't sing to her she just lays there and cries. So after a couple of versus of "The Wheels on the Bus" I notice that she is no longer moving or singing along with me. So I look down and she was fast asleep! I then had to sit on the bed with her for the next two hours while she slept because we have a pillow top bed and it would have been super easy for her to suffocate herself. We never let her sleep on her tummy and with her hatred for tummy time I was so surprised to find her asleep!

Zelda Friday!

Nothing of note happened this week. We had to cancel our PT evaluation on Monday because of my pink eye (which is viral, btw). We set up the appointment for next Wednesday. We are also planning on going to a Renaissance Faire this weekend!

The last soda...

Going through my last batch of pictures I came across a Mountain Dew bottle that I took a pic of because I had never seen one made with real sugar. Jon was walking by and says that was the last bottle of soda I'll ever have and you got a picture of it. RIP soda.

Cloth Wipes!

I got a tiny bit of time to do some crafting yesterday and I got halfway done with making some cloth wipes. The goal is to not have to buy the throw away wipes anymore. They can be washed with cloth diaper load of laundry! Speaking of which, I need to go start a load of those.

I got pink eye!

You read that right, I have pink eye. Or should I say pink eyes! I've never had it before and can't seem to get rid of it either. I got prescription eye drops, which have done nothing, if not made it worse. I read on the internets (because they are always right) to use breast milk. And guess what I got! Breast milk. So I've been using that since this afternoon and it actually seems like they are getting better. I also read to put lemon juice in your eye for it, but I don't think I am going to try one just yet. I'm also a little upset because I might have to reschedule Zelda's PT evaluation appointment tomorrow because of it :(

I figured out how to post videos, so here is your Zelda Friday post! Enjoy!

Hubby brought home the beetus!

While driving to Orlando, Jon tells me that he is thirsty all the time. On the 3 1/2 hour drive we stopped 4 times, half to get something to drink and nurse the other half to pee! I told him that when we get home that I was going to make him a doctor appointment. And that is exactly what I did. On Monday I got a same day appointment. If any of you know Jon, he was pissed. He does NOT go to doctors. But other than getting his blood drawn it was a pretty painless visit. They didn't even chide him for smoking!

Tuesday we got the results back. Jon has type 2 diabetes. Armed with a couple diabetic cookbooks, exercise, a couple of medications and a blood glucose tester we are going to get this under control. The first thing my mom asked me was "what are his numbers?" His glucose was 396, which is seriously high!

From what we have learned from the internet the diabetic diet is mainly cutting out a lot of carbs and eating more veggies. Things with carbs include alcohol, pasta, bread, fruit and soda. I could live on a diet of only carbs! But we are going this together and I too will be eating this new diet.

I love, love, love my husband and could not imagine going this life without him. <3
